Why heat pump design matters more than the heat pump

Most heat pump problems aren’t the pump — they’re the design. An oversized unit short-cycles and wastes money; the wrong radiators leave rooms cold; a badly sited unit annoys the neighbours. Here’s how we get it right:

Room-by-room heat loss calculation to MCS standards — never sized off floor area or the old boiler’s badge.
Radiator and pipework check — if any radiators need upgrading, we tell you before installation and price it upfront. No surprises mid-job.
Noise assessment and siting — every installation includes the required noise calculation, so your unit meets planning rules and keeps the peace.
Gas Safe boiler removal by our own engineers — your old gas boiler is disconnected, capped and removed in-house by our Gas Safe registered team, not left to a third party.
Fabric first — as insulation specialists, we’ll tell you if insulating first means a smaller, cheaper heat pump. Most heat pump installers can’t offer that. It’s our core trade.
Full evidence pack at handover — design calculations, commissioning records, MCS certificate and warranties. If it isn’t documented, it isn’t finished.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme — £7,500 towards your heat pump (£9,000 if you’re on oil or LPG)

You may be eligible if you own the property and are replacing an existing fossil fuel system (oil, gas or LPG) or electric heating — and you’re not replacing an existing heat pump.

The scheme runs to March 2028. We handle the grant application and claim it on your behalf — you only ever see the reduced price.
