• How much do solar panels and batteries cost?

  A typical 3.5–4.5kWp solar system costs around £6,100 installed, and battery storage typically £5,000–£8,000 depending on capacity (Energy Saving Trust, 2026). 0% VAT currently applies until 31 March 2027. Your free survey gives you a fixed, itemised quote.
  

• How much will I actually save?

   Industry analysis puts typical 3-bed household savings at £800–£950 a year including export payments; batteries typically increase real-world savings for households out during the day. Your figure depends on roof, system size, tariff and usage — we estimate it property-specifically at survey. 

• Is a battery worth it if I already have solar panels?

  Often, yes — especially if your panels predate affordable batteries and you're exporting surplus cheaply while buying evening electricity at peak rates. We survey your existing system, inverter compatibility and usage before recommending anything.

• How big a battery do I need?

  It depends on your daily consumption, your solar generation, and your tariff. We size it at survey against your actual usage — not a one-size-fits-all package. 

• Will a battery keep my power on in a power cut?

  Not by default — standard grid-tied systems shut down in an outage for safety. Backup capability is possible but needs specific system design. Tell us at survey if this matters to you.

• How long until the system pays for itself?

   Typically 9–13 years according to the Energy Saving Trust, depending on location, usage and system design. Panels generally carry long-term performance warranties, so much of the system's life is net saving. 

• Do I need planning permission?

  Most domestic solar installations are permitted for development. Exceptions include listed buildings, conservation areas and flats. We check this for you at the survey stage.

• Will solar work on my roof?

   South-facing, unshaded roofs perform best; east/west-facing roofs are viable at typically 15–20% lower output. North-facing roofs generally aren't recommended. Our survey assesses shading properly rather than guessing from an aerial photo. 

• What is the Smart Export Guarantee?

  The SEG requires energy suppliers to pay you for electricity you export. Rates vary by supplier and sign-up isn't automatic — we provide the certification documents you need to apply.

• What warranties do I get?

  Product and performance warranties on panels, inverter and battery (product-specific), plus our workmanship guarantee — all documented in your handover pack and confirmed in your quote. 

• What brands of panels and batteries do you install?

  We source through established UK supply partners and confirm the exact make, model and warranty of every component in writing on your itemised quote — so you know precisely what's going on your roof before you commit. 

• Which areas do you cover?
